Carrefour stores in Brazil will promote mobile payment for consumers

This year, Carrefour will soon start testing the supermarket network planning system with Scan&go in its stores, which will allow consumers to pay for their purchases directly via mobile phones, without having to pay at traditional bank counters.

The test will start this year and will take place in the four or five stores of the Brazilian sales network, according to the announcement by Noël Prioux, president of Brazil’s Carrefour, to attend a retail event in São Paulo this week.

As part of Carrefour’s digital transformation process, the program will use a system name called Scan&go, which is designed for small-scale sales. With this service, consumers can buy their products directly from the supermarket via the smartphone app.
