Two of the victims claimed that criminals stole at least 5000 dollars from their bank accounts through itunes shopping.

One said that the criminals had stolen money from her HSBC bank credit card and that she had not realized the problem until she received a message from HSBC that her credit limit was less than 30%.

“In early July, we noticed a total of 58 credit cards that had an unusual trade, After confirming that they were fraudulent transactions, we deployed the necessary precautions to help the affected cardholders to take back the withheld amounts. ” said the head of the Singapore Overseas Chinese bank credit card business.

Another bank, UOB, also said that as the number of fraudulent transactions increased, they began to pay close attention to the consumption of Apple’s itunes platform.

Apple’s Singapore office told the media that it had launched an investigation and hoped to make progress soon. It also said consumers should keep an eye on their apple accounts.
