Access to Alipay in multiple attractions in London, visitors can use cashless payment

Chinese tourists can use the Alipay lifestyle app for transactions across all of Merlin’s London attractions,Merlin said that Chinese tourists will receive electronic coupons for tourist attractions on flights to London and receive corresponding discounts. Merlin wants to make all visitors feel as convenient and fast as shopping in China.

In addition, Merlin said that it will also cooperate with Alipay in the future to launch more preferential activities for multi-national tourists.

In addition to Merlin, there are many merchants in the UK such as Hadlow Department Store, Selfridges, Health Products Retailer Holland & Barrett, Savoy Hotel, etc., which support Alipay shopping.

According to data provided by Alipay officially, there are already 18 offline stores in Europe that accept Alipay payments, and 76 European airports support Chinese tourists to pay tax rebates through Alipay, helping visitors to save time waiting in line.

Dominique Sedley, director of global trade strategy at Merlin, bluntly said: “By working with Alipay, we can help Chinese tourists explore London more easily.”

At present, the payment method in the UK is very simple, and most people prefer cash transactions and credit card payments.

Alipay is focusing on the cities and attractions that Chinese tourists visit the most overseas, according to a commentary in the Payment Journal. Large businesses and attractions in places like London and Las Vegas are the most frequented by Chinese tourists.

In these cities, environment-based business applications and push notifications help a lot. Therefore, it is normal to see more European and American merchants accept alipay in the future.
