According to BusinessWire, BitPay, a block-chain payment provider, recently announced that it had obtained a virtual currency license from the Financial Services Bureau of New York Department of Financial services.
The virtual currency license allows BitPay to trade with companies and consumers headquartered in New York.
New york-based businesses can use BitPay to accept global users to buy bitcoin and bitcoin cash.
The FSA has conducted a comprehensive review of the application of BitPay, including corporate anti-money laundering, customer awareness, anti-fraud, capitalization and cyber security policies.
BitPay is the eighth company to receive a financial services authority virtual currency license.
