Google pay’s first anniversary in India– 25 million monthly active users

Google recently renamed its payment service from Tez to Google Pay, the company said in a blog post，Google Pay, which has 25m monthly active users, completed about 860m transactions in the past year.

 

A year after Google launched its payment service in India, Caesar Sengupta, Caesar Sengupta, the Vice-President responsible for its payment business, said the application was already widely used in the Indian region.

“People Pay for bills, rent, chaiwallah hot drinks, plumbers and even bus fares by using Google Pay” Sengupta also wrote in the blog.

About 1.2 million companies in India use the app as their preferred payment method, Google said.

Google Pay is co-sponsored by the partner Axis Bank, ICICI Bank，HDFC Bank and the National Bank of India.
