Rakuten Wallet, a cryptocurrency exchange, will initially offer cash cryptocurrency trading and messaging services to Android smartphone apps, according to the Japanese e-commerce giant’s announcement on August 19.
Rakuten Wallet will offer BTC /JPY, ETH/JPY and BCH/JPY trading to the market. Users can trade through the mobile app, the announcement said, and only the Android version is currently available, with iOS planned for early September.
Rakuten said in 2014 that it would accept digital currencies sooner or later. It bought Every’s Bitcoin, a Japanese cryptocurrency exchange, on August 12, 2018, and launched its new Wallet, Rakuten Wallet, on April 15, 2019.
On March 18 this year, Rakuten Pay released an update on its website, which announced that it supports payment in cryptocurrencies other than legal ones, and officially supports three digital currencies including BCH after five months.
On March 1, 2019, Rakuten Wallet announced that it would accept an additional investment of 1.38 billion yen from Rakuten Card, according to Rakuten officials. The money will be used to strengthen the financial base, expand the business and improve the convenience and security of the service.
Rakutin is optimistic about the development and future adoption of cryptocurrency, saying it is important to provide cryptocurrency transaction services in the long run as the number of cryptocurrencies used in e-commerce, offline sales and peer-to-peer payments will increase.
In fact, before Rakuten accepted Bitcoin cash transactions, Bitcoin cash was gaining popularity and popularity in Japan, and Bitcoin cash was everywhere in the daily lives of local residents.
First of all, the digital currency industry, led by Bitcoin cash, has received the attention of the Japanese government and officials. Prime minister Shinzo Abe’s liberal Democratic Party has been supporting Japan to vigorously develop the Digital currency industry. In order to promote the good development of the industry in Japan, the Japan Autority of Digital Assets, an autonomous institution, has been set up to give strong support to the industry at the government level.
In march, there were about 56 Bitcoin cash recipients in Japan, and in April, four stores owned by Japan’s Mezzo entertainment group formally accepted BCH payments, and then Rakuten, the Japanese e-commerce giant, announced it was accepting Bitcoin cash payments. A growing number of Japanese companies are opting to support Bitcoin cash as a means of payment.
We cannot predict the future any more than our ancestors could imagine our lives today. However, digital currency and blockchain technology are bound to change the world. According to the popularity and acceptance of Bitcoin cash around the world, it is only a matter of time before Bitcoin cash can be used as currency around the world.
