Russia’s largest e-commerce platform Ozon has launched an online payment service with China UnionPay

China UnionPay International announced today that Ozon, Russia’s largest e-commerce platform, has launched its UnionPay online payment service, offering convenience to the 3.3 million local users of China UnionPay cards.


After the outbreak of the new crown, Russian residents, local Chinese, international students on online shopping, takeaways, online payment and other “full-time” consumption patterns increased demand, China UnionPay card in Russia local online transaction volume continues to increase, the first quarter in local life, transportation, takeaway catering and other scenes of transaction volume increased more than 2 times.





In recent years, China UnionPay International has accelerated the development of its extensive and deep online acceptance network. The number of overseas online merchants supporting UnionPay cards has reached nearly 22 million, covering more than 200 countries and regions.


This year, more than 3,000 major online merchants including Neiman Marcus, MAC Cosmetics, Newegg, Matches Fashion, Theory, Net-a-Porter Hong Kong, and Moncler have opened their stores. Origin, a digital entertainment platform; Travel website Orlando Disneyland, worry-free line; Pay- Zoom, a South Korean tuition payment platform; Food delivery platform Foodpanda Hong Kong, OpenRice.



With the popularity of mobile payment products, cashless payment development is getting faster, in providing web-based payment services, China UnionPay International has launched in-APP payment, cross-screen sweep QR code and other features to expand the scope of online payment services to UnionPay standard e-wallet users.



UnionPay International also provides online payment services such as installment payment and “buy now and pay later” for cardholders to enhance the consumption experience. At present, China UnionPay card holders can pay in installments on more than 30,000 cross-border e-commerce companies, overseas study payment platforms and airlines’ official websites, reducing the pressure of large consumption.

China’s UnionPay Paybylink service helps overseas merchants collect money from UnionPay cardholders through text messages, emails and other forms, enabling them to sell goods online without opening an online store, which has attracted a large number of small and micro merchants in Hong Kong, Europe, Canada, Southeast Asia and other places to access.
Ozon is Russia’s largest e-commerce company. Founded in 1998, the e-commerce site is often referred to as the “Russian Amazon” for selling books, electronic products, music and movies online.
