Square launches new mobile card reader and supports desktop-side trading

Square publishes the new square Reader, making it easier for small businesses to complete credit card payments.

In 2009 the company launched the magnetic stripe card reader square reader, and after many years the company finally brought a subsequent upgrade version.

During use, the user inserts reader into the smartphone/tablet 3.5mm headphone port and runs the companion mobile app.

In addition, the Lightning port is introduced in the new version, which can be used directly on iphone 7 or above on Apple devices. The new square reader has a retail price of $10, and interested users can now visit the official Square website to make a purchase.

Square also announced today in the announcement that it can support desktop trading through the reader platform. If you still use the old reader, you can now plug it into your Mac notebook or Chromebook audio interface and pay through the browser-based desktop virtual terminal.
