Bangkok Bank is about to launch QR code payment e-wallet

Bangkok Bank, the largest bank in Thailand, is Bangkok to launch the “regulatory sandbox” of the Bank of Thailand in October, Launched a card-free qr code technology on an e-wallet platform for users to make payments in Thailand and overseas.


The bank of Bangkok is testing qr code payment functions, such as charging electronic wallets with credit and debit CARDS, in the central bank’s regulatory sandbox.

Shoke Na Ranong, executive vice president and business manager of the Bank of Bangkok, said that the e-wallet application Bewallet would provide a non-card QR code payment service through cooperation with the Thai Payment Network (TPN) and China UnionPay.

Thanks to the partnership with China UnionPay, Bewallet can also be used in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Singapore, in addition to Thailand.
