Online travel giant Expedia quietly stops accepting bitcoin payments

According to the cointelegraph news, the travel booking site Expedia.com recently stopped accepting bitcoin payments for hotels or airline tickets.

An Expedia spokesperson also confirmed that starting on June 10th, the platform’s hotel and ticket service no longer accepts bitcoin.

Some users expressed their dissatisfaction with the news on Reddit and proposed some alternatives to Expedia. For example, CheapAir Travel Service began accepting bitcoin payment tickets and hotel reservations in 2013. It is reported that Expedia announced in June 2014 that it will cooperate with Coinbase, a cryptocurrency exchange, and will accept Bitcoin as a payment method.
