only 2% of organisations accept cryptocurrencies as a means of payment

According to Btcmanager, a recent developer survey released by Stack Overflow shows that the use of Bitcoin and cryptographic currencies in organizations remains low.

The 90,000 developers working on Stack Overflow are known to have provided their thoughts on bitcoin, cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.

Interestingly, only 2% of participants in the survey said their organizations accept bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as a means of payment.

Of those, about 80% said their companies did not use any form of distributed ledger technology, while another 12.7% said their organizations used blockchain technology but did not apply to currency-based applications.

It is worth mentioning that 56% of people expect Bitcoin payments to become more mainstream over the next five years, according to an International Monetary Fund’s April 11 Twitter survey. More than 37,600 Twitter accounts were involved in the vote.
