On May 15, Alibaba group released its fiscal 2019 fourth quarter earnings and fiscal 2019 results. In this fiscal year, Alibaba group’s revenue reached 376.844 billion yuan(Renminbi), and its revenue in the fourth quarter reached 93.498 billion yuan(Renminbi), both increasing by 51% year on year.
Taobao and Tmall have added more than 100 million users over the past fiscal year, bringing more than 900 billion incremental businesses to brands and businesses.
The results also showed strong user growth on Alibaba’s Chinese retail platform over the past year. By the end of March 2019, Taobao and Tmall Mobile monthly active users reached 721 million, up 104 million and 22 million higher than in the same period last year and the previous quarter.
It also means that in the past year, from shopping, local life, travel, spiritual entertainment, Alibaba’s digital economy has led the daily life of over 700 million consumers around the world.
As the largest and most complete consumer life community in China, tens of millions of merchants on Taobao contribute billions of products. More than 120 million active consumers are on Lazada and Aliexpress shopping.
According to the financial report released by Alibaba in fiscal 2019, ant financial paid 517 million yuan (Renminbi)in franchise service fee and software technology service fee to Alibaba group, and its pre-tax profit was about 1.379 billion yuan(Renminbi).
The ultra-expected strong growth shows Alibaba’s ability to serve businesses and consumers at the same time, innovation leads to growth, and growth leads innovation.
In this fiscal year, Alipay continued to make strategic investments in offline payment, transportation, livelihood services and overseas markets, further driving its global user growth. Among them, more than 70% of users have used more than three kinds of Alipay App services.
In addition, Alipay mini program are beginning to feed Alibaba ecosystem, data show that mobile phone Taobao in the Alipay mini program user scale exceeded 100 million.
Taobao and Tmall mobile as a whole had 721 million monthly active users, 104 million more than the same period last year and 22 million more than the previous quarter, and 654 million annual active consumers, 102 million more than the same period last year.
“We achieved solid results again in this quarter and fiscal year, with revenue up 51 per cent year-on-year, strong user growth and active ecological interaction,” said Wu wei, chief financial officer of Alibaba group.
