Australian market black Friday forecast: 37% of consumers will only buy online

A recent analysis of the Australian black Friday market predicted that 57 percent of Australian consumers will carry out shopping in black Friday both in physical stores and online,Notably, 37% of consumers will purchase purely through online channels, with an estimated per-capita consumption of $263.


According to the report, the consumer goods category, apparel products will become the hottest target. Consumer Electronics ranked second, and surprisingly, sporting goods and underwear were among the least popular categories.




In addition, the report points out that the average discount for black Friday Australian stores last year was 53%, slightly below the global average of 55% discount.

With an estimated $263 in spending, this could mean that each shopper can save an average of $297.
