Microsoft Wallet will retire on February 28, 2019

Earlier this month, Microsoft reiterated its decision to abandon Windows 10 Mobile,
Microsoft said it would no longer publicly offer updates or fixes for Windows 10
Mobile from December 10, 2019, and advised users to move to iOS or the android
platform.

Microsoft recently updated the Microsoft wallet page to say the app will be retired
on February 28, 2019.

In 2017, Microsoft Wallet was renamed Microsoft Pay.

According to the report, Microsoft’s payment service is not really popular, supported
mobile phones include Microsoft Lumia 650, 950 and 950 xl.
“Coming soon” in the bank support list has not changed. The service is integrated
into the Edge browser, but it hasn’t made it widely available.

Recently, financial media also reported that Microsoft gave up Windows 10 Mobile
system. Some in the industry believe the main reason for Microsoft’s mobile operating
system’s failure is that it does not have enough support from other manufacturers in
terms of software and hardware, and fails to provide enough applications to users.
