National Australia Bank (NAB) announces support for Apple pay

“National Bank of Australia” (NAB), one of the top four banks in Australia, is the 17th largest bank in the world. NAB recently announced its support for Apple pay, allowing NAB customers to bind their Visa cards to the Apple pay service.

Previously, NAB had been boycotting Apple Pay, and now only one of Australia’s four largest Banks does not support Apple Pay.

NAB made the announcement on twitter, but it is not currently listed as an official Apple Pay partner.

Apple Pay is slow to popularize in Australia, largely because it doesn’t allow banks to access NFC chips on the iPhone.

ANZ was the first to announce its support for the service in April 2016.

It is reported that last December, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia announced that it will join Apple’s payment platform Apple Pay.

So far, only Westpac banks in Australia’s big four banks do not support Apple pay.
